Where is foulweald totem mound
Comment by The mound is at 56, Comment by Tough quest, don't attempt to solo it imo. Enraged Foulwealds spawn one after another, about of them spawn rough count , level mobs, I got through about of them soloing as a paladin great gear and was level Also beware of the level 35 elite that wanders through the area.
Comment by soloable as a 29 pally in fair gear sin'dorei warblade and some teen-level greens. Comment by Soloable as a 27 druid. Have decent gear, assorted 20's blues. Had to switch out and heal a few times plus use warstomp. Quite a few waves of mobs. Definatly easier with 2 ppl though. Comment by Just got done doing this quest as a 33 Undead Holy Priest, with fair gear and solo. I proceeded in a different light, knowing I would not be able to take on wave after wave of mobs, I took out mobs one at a time to make a path to the mound.
Once on top, I took out as many mobs that I could before planting flag. After planting flag I started fight with first wave, killed a few and then used Psychic scream to shew off attackers. Ran up the path to regain health and out of danger, then came back to see the chief trying to take down my flag.
Singled him out and fried his butt in the previuos cleared foreground area. Took my totem as the spawnees were coming back to life and ran!!! Mission accomplished. Comment by For those without coordinates, the mound is located in Greenpaw Village.
Need a group of 2 or more Expect hardly anytime to heal and keep an eye on the flag. Comment by make sure not to stand in the middle of the mound when you start the encounter. You will get stuck IN the flag. Comment by Asmael Soloed today by 25 lvl Holy Paladin in decent gear. No problems just have to play mana-wise hehe. It's actually a lot of fun to do, keep BoW up, watch your mana, and avoid consecrate spam if you can help it it's not very efficient.
Dance between auras to heal as needed and you're good. The only problem is that the leggings are just, well Comment by kdesigns Soloed at a 28 affliction lock. Comment by If you get far enough into the event where Murgut comes out, but you are unseccessful in killing him, you can run back and he will still be there, and you are still able to get his totem.
Comment by When I did it with my pal me 29 priest he 27 mage We did it fairly easy but the suck part was that he didnt drop any totem and only one of us culd loot him Comment by Takeout Actually, Murgut spawns on a timer after you plant the banner. My advice, don't kill any of them. If you can cc, do so. Then kill the two quickly, kill Murgut - profits! Comment by Poof Please delete Answered from anka's post.
However, after he died, I didn't see said basket anywhere. Comment by Hmm. Tried to solo this as a lvl 33 BE Ret Pally. Could deal with both Enraged Foulwealds easily enough, taking both down with more than three quarters of my health left.
However, when both of the mobs aren't being tended to at once, one of them will get a little mischievous and dismantle the banner. Very frustrating!! Did it to me three times the little buggers. I would advise that you do with a friend as once the banner is gone, you have to fly back to Zoram to get another one. I eventually binned this as I have no friends. Sob Sob. Wasn't too hard Comment by Immobulus Solo'd as a 28 disc priest, no cooldowns, no pots. Comment by Enruhe Soloed as a 28 Mage, didn't even need to bandage, just clear the area around the totem mound, keep one permanently sheeped and kite the other, as said above, eventually Murgut will spawn.
Comment by Soloed it at 29 lvl affli warlock. I was just putting DoTs on them one by one and at the end when King appeared, i died and used soulstone, then quick feared King. Peace of cake if u know how to play :. Used blessing of might to keep dps up, and by the time i was finished with the waves of mobs i had enough time to eat and drink.
Comment by The Mound is at 56, Comment by Pretty easy quest. Solo'd it myself, and i was a 25 druid, did it all in cat form. Not too hard. Coordinates are correct. Comment by Jakobud A nice trick about this quest, the basket Murgut drops which contains the totem can be looted by anyone who has the quest, even if they were not in the group who killed Murgut. I showed up once 3 or 4 min after some other group did the quest, the basket was still there so I simply looted it and was done Comment by The quest says it's a 3man quest but I soloed it with my lvl 26 blood elf beast mastery hunter.
Just used everything I got: 3 times stacked mana tap, Healing Potion, Silk bandage, freezing trap is realy handy here. I nearly died, and my pet was dead already as I ran off up the hill. I Wing Clipped the furbolg and switched to aspect of the cheetah.
There I quickly ate and drunk up and ressed my pet again. The boss was spawned and I pulled him just in time, the mobs who were arround him first spawned back and I finished him. Comment by Soloed as a 26 Paladin Full Prot , just took the first two mobs down to as low health as I could without killing, sat there healing for a while Redoubt made this trivial , as soon as the main guy spawned consecrated and focused everything on him.
Didn't even have to bubble. Let myself die, then SS'ed and killed him. He's quite easy. Comment by soloed by lvl 31 shammy :P. Comment by you have to kill almost all the area! Comment by You can actually solo this as a hunter. Warlocks probably could as well. I did it at level 26, well equiped but far from twinked. It's a lot of fun :- You have to keep your pet's HoT on, and I ended up using a bandage on him as well whilst letting them beat on the banner a bit.
Have to be careful with your mana too, don't go blowing it all in the first 30 seconds, I was out by the time the last one came, but it didn't matter, he was easy. Didn't even use a potion. Comment by i'm 1 hunter lvl Comment by I had to wait for it to turn green and solo this quest since I wasn't in Ashenvale too often, but as a 32 enh shammy you can pull it off with a mana pot, heal pot, and good use of totems. It might even be easier than that, but that's what it took for me.
Basically throw down a mana spring, then use Stoneclaw whenever it's off CD and there's a new mob spawn. He'll go straight for the totem and let you fight one at a time. Kill slow and fight less mobs. Comment by Soloable as a level 24 afflic lock. Threw down the standard, and had my void tank the 2 furbolgs. Make sure you switch targets from time to time to keep aggro on both. I just Health Funneled until the Chief showed up, kept him at near full health.
Both of the two adds died once in the meantime BTW, it takes awhile but a void can kill things lol. Anyway once the chief showed up i put the void on him, dotted, and shadowbolted him to death.
Void almost died during this so I Sacrificed the void, dotted the 2 adds and ran around til they died. Easy if you are smart about it. I did this quest as a 25 warlock with a 23 paladin and the dog and we didn't die once and the dog cleared all the aggro back up the path. Comment by Kremonte Also confirming this; any class with a reappliable CC can solo this, and I'm sure others can too. I just did it solo as a 25 mage the "normal" way, with a 28 rogue, ended in disaster after I ran OOM and his health ran low.
I figure some simple strategies would be a nice addition. I also noticed while doing this quest that, at the path just out of the area a few paces north there is a log, and if something goes wrong, you can go up the path and jump onto the log pretty easily - this will evade both mobs, and unless you can get back quickly and get them off the banner, it will die When Murgut spawned, unsure that it was a consequence of the mob being at full health, but one of the two mobs I was fighting despawned.
Mage - this one's obvious, and it helps a lot if you're frost. The two mobs will spawn, sheep one of them, and kite the other. Rank 1 frostbolt is your friend; it slows, and can proc frostbite. Use debuff timers if you have them so you don't waste mana. I recommend bringing at least a lesser mana pot. Warlock - this one's obvious too, just abuse fears.
Make sure the local area is completely cleared or you're in for some bad news; keep out a voidwalker just in case, for the extra tank and for a sacrifice. I recommend fear juggling using rank 1; try not to spam it too much or you will run oom, but don't aggro extra adds!
Alternatively, you can use your VW to tank both of them and just spam health funnel and bandage. Rogue - trickier, but doable. I couldn't do this until 28 on my rogue, which lessened the mobs beating up on me and also saved me on the boss. Don't pop evasion until the boss spawns; if you can sap at the beginning, do it, and crippling kite the other. If you want, put crippling on both hands, but at least have it on your main hand.
My suggestion would be to abuse the log at the top of the path; kite one down, evade it back, run to the totem and restart. You may need to blow sprint on that, but that's fine. With gouge and crippling, you shouldn't need it to escape. Warrior - not sure if this is doable; bring a health pot. Try to keep hamstring up on both mobs, and when your health dips below half, use your fear and bandage.
It's not a problem here if you kill them as a side effect of the kiting, just don't drop too much health. Hunter - incredibly simple, really. Try to keep one spam trapped, and have your pet on the other. Make sure that your pet has all of its non-growl spells OFF autocast, to keep the mobs alive. It would also help to have your pet have aggro on the trapped mob, so between casts you won't get hit, and you can continue spamming mend pet.
Unfortunately, I'm in doubt that a priest, paladin, or shaman could solo this. A druid might be able to, but it would be very hard, and you wouldn't need a guide if you can pull that off.
Comment by Soloed on a 24 hunter Chain freezing trap one to keep the damage down. I had to bandage as well as mend pet. As soon as King pops, kill adds and focus on king. Take along enough bandages and a health pot, and you can do it. Not easy by any means, but doable. Comment by Koshut soled it with a lvl 27 BM hunter pretty easy i must say too. Comment by If you're in trouble when Murtug spawns just run out of combat.
The 2 adds will despawn, but Murtug will stay up for a bit. Then just go back in and solo him. Comment by i just completed this quest as a 25 druid, lots of heals in between, best to keep the 2 mobs at low health rather than kill 4, cc probably only option, finish the 2 mobs off, kill murgut :. Comment by Just solo'ed this as a 27 undead priest and it was actually quite easy.
Start by clearing the surrounding area of all mobs so you can psychic scream, without it there is little chance you will survive.
Bubble youself and place the banner. When the mobs show up let them beat on you for a while until your bubble breaks.
Psychic scream them and rebubble. If you start to get low throw a renew on yourself. Do this for about 2 minutes and then when murgot shows up dot him up while continuing to fear.
As soon as you have the 2 running again finish off murgot and run until you are out of combat. Your mana should be fine 4 When you see the "boss" coming, use thorns and quickly finish off the 2 foes 5 Kill the lvl 26 noob and you're done, very easy :. After about 3 minutes I realized they must have changed it, so I shifted cat and owned them, but quickly got overwealmed thanks to a lag spike.
But when I got back there was a Furbolg on the mound named "Unknown". I killed him and he spawned the totem basket. Odd, but it worked out well. Comment by moose Solo'd 29 feral druid.
Comment by Here's a nice little trick for all melee based classes with an attack that hits two targets at once. Allow this for a few seconds to get your health back.
Having the best food available for your level helps here 6 Repeat until Boss comes I used this method as a 29 warrior, when the quest was already green to me. I previously wiped just trying to hold the mound and take them there. Comment by soloed as a 29 undead shadow priest made sure touch of weakness was on both enraged furbolgs mind blast and mind flay to get them both low on health I then used psychic scream, when the furbolgs get back power word: shield. By the time the shield was down psychic scream was ready again Keep up inner fire and use renew as needed.
When boss gets there finish off the 2 near dead ones and kill the chief. When I finished I had almost no mana left, you might wanna bring a pot. Comment by solo'd as a 26 marks hunter without any cc or pots, just kept pet constantly mended and split the damage with my pet when it was getting low, came out oom and we were both low on health but it's very doable :p.
Comment by decoy Completed solo with a lvl25 pally without any problems. They might of nerfed the difficulty of this quest in patch 2. Comment by I didn't know that the Foulweald would always be 2, so I kept killing them in hope for the "real" one to spawn. So keep in mind, CC is the way to do this, if you're doing it solo, that is!
Comment by Aerandul Just solo'd as a 24 Enhancement Shaman, not brilliantly geared, no potions, no used items. I can confirm that the Chief is till on a timer of about 2. I went as follows: 1 Buff yourself up You can use lightning shield, but don't renew it. Plant totems I chose strength of earth, healing wave and searing to begin with, then used stoneclaw to allow me to focus on one mob at a time.
You may think "Oh god! Now I'll die! Immediately drop the two furbolg and focus on him. While he doesn't hit that hard, you may be low on mana, so check yourself beforehand. Don't forget to loot the basket! Comment by As an alternative stategy: Log onto your main or some higher level character, slaughter the furbolgs and the Chief, then log back onto your character with the quest and loot the totem basket that spawns to complete the quest - hassle free.
Comment by The Soloed this as 26 rogue. Attacked the bears that spawned then kited them around the mound, Gouging and using Riposte whenever I had the chance. Used healing potions, Sprint, and Really Sticky Glue when things got nasty. When chief appeared, used Evasion and Blood Fury. After you kill him, Vanish, let the bears despawn and loot the totem. Comment by kinje Soloed as a 25 Rogue. Put crippling poison on both hands, slowed both foulweald as needed to kite them around.
Bandaged occasionally. When Murgut arrived, I popped vanish, which instantly despawned the two guards. Ambushed Murgut, killed him with almost no loss of life. Comment by I did this as a level 27 fury warrior. Im well geared power, hp food buffed , and i was dual wielding. Before you do anything clear the area. Intim shout and the run i mention can screw you if theres adds. Ok first of all you need to pot early. Anyway make sure to use Demo shout and Thunder Clap regularly.
Dont use execute that was one mistake i made. There will almost always be two enemies so save Intim shout. Use it when you low.
Stop attacking and bandage up i used heavy silk if your using wool you can do this period. That way they will walk back slowly. Finish up the mob your fighting and then kill the one coming back.
This is when i got dicey. After 1 more mob i was low on health. I suggest you wait out the bandaged debuff and the use piercing howl again im fury. Run away from the mound and bandage up a bit. The mobs will stop following you soon and then hit the pillar.
Run back health pot should still be on CD unfortunately. The level 26 mob should be up now and the other seemed to dissapear or i killed them remember keep rend up. Kill it shouldnt be hard at all after bandaging. I killed it and left. Comment by Zeraph Soloed at lvl 27, hunter with dps cat lvl 27 Too good :D. Comment by alkaline Very easy as a 27 Shaman: equip a shield and 1h, drop Stoneskin and Healing Stream totem and tank the first two mobs until the guy you have to kill appears.
Kill all three, and that's it. Comment by flaym VERY easily soloed as a 28 rogue, could have done it sooner. How you ask? By Cheating! Plant totem, aggro both furbies, and then jump to the drum. You might need to reposition a couple times to make sure they can't hit you. Once they run back towards the totem, then you know you've got it right. At this point, don't panic, they will not destroy it. Instead they stand there and reaggro to you repeatedly. Twiddle your thumbs for a while The boss will spawn, and run to the totem, probably hitting you along the way.
Take this Bloodtooth tribe banner a short ways northeast into Greenpaw Village and place it upon their totem mound. They will consider this an act of aggression and try to destroy the banner. Hold your ground until their chief, Murgut, appears to save face for the tribe, then kill the traitor! You will also receive: Murgut sold his own tribe out to the Horde , allying with them when they took your precious Silverwind Refuge in order to 'save' his people.
Let us speak now of a different traitor, one whom I believe has something that will make that rod of yours even more powerful. The totem mound is in Greenpaw Village [56, 63].
After planting the banner, Enraged Foulwealds will spawn and attack, one at a time. After about 6 or 7 attackers, Chief Murgut will appear. Comment by Allakhazam Turned lvl 30 while clearing out the area then soloed with lvl 30 shamen. It's not real hard. Had to burn a healing pot and i used warstomp when the chief was attacking me with two of his buddies.
Ran off up a hill and healed once, came back and it was just the chief with no little guys. Comment by Allakhazam Mound is at 56, Comment by Allakhazam soloed it at 29 as a warlock. VW was key, using him to keep mobs off me as much as possible. Comment by Allakhazam The basket looks like a tiny chest and glows green. Kind of hard to miss in the middle of a giant pile of corpses.
Comment by Allakhazam The third time of trying to solo it I almost did it, the end was in sight, I could see myself scraping through to completion He bashed the hell out of me and I just gave up on the quest in disgust, still wondering what the Boorguard Tunic looks like :D Unlucky! So, just be careful that guy is elsewhere on his patrol Comment by Allakhazam Okay, this is only soloable by classes that can heal themselves. My 27 hunter couldn't do it, despite me dropping a trap to start with, an exploding sheep, various explosive devices, potions, you name it, I tried it.
I'm going to try again in a level or two, because I really want that tunic, and nobody in Ashenvale wants to help. Edited, Thu Apr 20 Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd at lvl 27 hunter. My pet drew most of the aggro, died once came back and the chief was still there.
Owned him with range even though the banner was gone. Comment by Allakhazam Just completed it tonight so it is working. I went through quite a few 15ish? Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd as 30 priest. When you first plant it 2 mobs come and then 1 or 2 mobs every seconds. I had a high DPS wand Take note that if the furbolgs kill the banner, you fail. Also take note that the Chief does NOT attadck the banner, so you can die if it's down to you and him.
The chief comes after 10 or so Furbolgs. Also, I had too many furbolgs on me at one point and ran until I lost aggro, and they vanished instead of run back to the banner.
Might take advantage of that. Comment by Allakhazam If you solo, there will never be more than two at a time that attack you. You just need to make sure that you kill all the mobs around the mound first. I soloed Lvl 30 Druid. Comment by Allakhazam Did this as a lvl 32 Tauren Warrior.
I followed the same advice as most people here. Cleared the area around the mound first, meaning much of the close and distantly close Foulweads. Planted the totem, fought as much as I could making sure to attack any of them that were going after the totem. They like to sneak up on ya like that. Didnt matter as long as they were fighting me and not the totem.
After a while I used a greater healing potion to regain health and kept going. I used other elixers and potions like armor, trolls blood, ogres stregth, etc. I did die during the encounter but when I came back, all Foulweads were gone, and chief was atop the mound waiting for me. My banner was gone though, but I was still able to kill him and get the totem.
Almost pissed me off too, because I was having some serious lag issues, but got it done. Comment by Allakhazam coords are correct did it with level 32 hunter alone, totem was dropped near the body in a little box, you have to look very wel.
Comment by Allakhazam where can I find the mound exectelie? Comment by Allakhazam At level 26 I had very little trouble with this quest. The way I completed it solo was: Arrive at the mound and pull 2 of the furbolgs standing around. After they're dead, go stand on top of the mound, this will pull about more. I redid my weapon buff and lightning shield and dropped Stoneskin and Healing Stream totems, then planted the flag.
The furbolgs will generally arrive in twos and threes such that you will nearly always be fighting 2 or 3. Save mana by grouping your casts together. This minimises the time you spend not regenning mana.
By the time the King arrived I mistimed a heal and died, but I was able to return and single pull him with relative ease. The whole quest took me about 15 minutes.
Comment by Allakhazam This is one crazy quest, did it was a level 27 Mage with help from a 35 Warlock friend. First time we tried it was an outright failure due to one of the elite Alliance tree guys somehow aggroing us. I have no idea where he came from. Second try went a little better, no tree guy this time. Unfortunately near the end of the waves the furbolgs we had cleared began to respawn on us. This added to an already chaotic situation. I died just as the boss popped and I thought "great, now I'll have to start over yet again.
A quick frost nova on a nearby furbolg and I had enough time to loot it and get the hell outta there. So it is possible to make it from the graveyard back to the mound without the basket dissapearing. Comment by Allakhazam Does anyone know if there is a level cap on this quest? I tried it a few minutes ago am, 29 Jan on my 51 rogue and after I killed Murgut, he was not carrying a totem nor did a chest appear.
The banner was still standing on the mound, so I'm not sure what I did worng or if the quest is bugged. Comment by Allakhazam I had a little bit of a hard time finding the mound, its surrounded by objects at 56,63 Solo'ed this with my 27 priest.
Trick is to clear out the mobs around the mound or else they will aggro. Comment by Allakhazam Okay the mound is relatively easy to find - it's a hillock between some totem poles south of the main road SW of Raynewood. It is advisable to have a group of folk to help defeat the forthcoming attack get 4 lvl 30s together and you should be okay and before you plant the flag, make sure you've killed off the riffraff around the mound. Right-click the flag and left-click the mound and the flag will deploy.
You then have to kill off all the boars that attack. They're not too tough at least for lvl 30s. Finally the chief comes along and he must be dispatched too. He will drop a basket and you'll find the totem in there. By the way, even if you try this quest alone and lose the flag as I did you can join a party and still get the totem from the chief's basket I was thinking I'd have to go back to the quest giver and start from scratch - not the case :. Once I found it the mound is between two totem poles just south of Raynewood and set up my banner it summoned the furbolgs right away.
They attack in groups of twos; Chief Murgut appears after about pair I soloed at level 37 tauren warrior. One superior healing potion later I was done the quest. Did not use Retaliation Hope that helps! Comment by Allakhazam Okay, I quite enjoyed this quest. Really showed how over powered my lvl 27 Druid is I fought first 3 guys off Came out of Bear Form, Warstomp, healed.
Comment by Allakhazam Tried this quest with 4 shaman, levels 25,30,31,32 and failed - there are at least waves of mobs that come at you in groups of Unfortunately, this event is scripted like many in the old Everquest where you need the 'holy trinity.
The mobs come so fast there was no time for any of us 4 shaman to do anything but kill, so DPS is key. Maybe 5 warriors, LOL. By the time you hit the low 30's where you can succeed at this quest, leather classes can go to Needles and get a better chest piece from the "Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem" quest there.
Edited, Mon Jan 31 Comment by Allakhazam Level 30 Priest and Level 30 Warrior waltzed in to do this and found the quest problematic. Groups should crowd up on top of each other to avoid pulling extraneous non-quest-related furbolgs who almost-die then baf bring-a-friend. At one point we had nearly 20 individual furbolgs on us, half of which were baf. No one died. But holy sh-t. Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd this as a 25 BE pally. Tough, but doable. Oh, and get the hell outta there before the respawns happen!
Comment by Allakhazam Tried to do this solo with my lvl30 hunter. As soon as you plant the banner you're rushed by two lvl24 Enraged Foulwealds who each have the tank of a prot warrior. Each time you've killed one, another one appears and so on. I'd managed to kill eight, but in the end my health ran out before I'd even seen the boss.
Either get a healer to cover you, or a couple of extra damage dealers to split up the aggro. Comment by Allakhazam i soloed this as a lvl 27 warlock. The trick is to kill all the mobs around the mound them keep all the aggro on your pet.
Comment by Allakhazam It's actually quite simple to find the mount. Just enter the path leading south from raynewood, and enter greenpaw village. The first camp on your left is the one you need. Kill the mobs, jump on the big rock in the center of the camp and plant the banner by right-clicking : Happy slaying!
Comment by Allakhazam You plant the banner on a mound with 2 totem poles on either side. The mound is down a path just south of the road to Raynewood Retreat.
It'll seem like nothing has happened for about 5 minutes, then all hell breaks loose. I tried to dual this with 2 lvl 29 characters and we were overwhelmed. Did it again with 5 ppl in the 20s, and we did fine.
The totem is dropped randomly, and you need to pick it up quickly before it disappears. Comment by Allakhazam Well i'm standing here on a pile of furbolg bodies, they did not destroy the banner, there was no "failed" message, but there's no Murgut. I think this happened the last time I did it too. There must be a time limit. Comment by Allakhazam You don't need a big group for this one, me as a 23 tauren druid and my friend as a 29 troll rouge did this easy.
Comment by Allakhazam ok first off go to Splintertree Post then W to the sign post that leads to Raynewood; go just a bit futher to the a road that leads S..
