How many sponsors does rg3 have
No one has ever referred to a native American as a redskin in the way a white person would call a black person a N word. The other group looks at it and says, oh dear it is just so racist and offensive, and if you are offended you are nothing but a racist honky that needs to come to the 21st century. Oh the travesty of what happened to native americans, using the term is so offensive. Its like making fun of them. No one has ever used the term as a slur.
Any time someone can perceive racism, they get a hard on and start boycotting. I think we need to make Aunt Jamima into a white woman, because white women can make pancakes too. And uncle ben needs to be a white dude, because white people have uncles named Ben.
Progressives, is that how its done? Interesting that adidas has chosen to support the effort to destroy sport history and culture in this country. Adidas is big in soccer. Their only tie to the Redskins is they were dumb enough to give a big bag full of money to Redskins 3rd string QB to wear there stuff. PC Liberal?? I just posted that I am Native American and I am raised on a reserve.
Just understand every time you use the name Washington Redskin you do it as a bigot. You forgot Angels and Saints. Native American is a racist term. The correct term is Indigenous People of the Americas. No one is native to the Americas. It is no longer acceptable and as progressive people we should NOT have a problem with change. Because your forefathers did one thing that was considered okay at that time does not make it right to continue doing so when it is no longer acceptable.
Think about it. There was a large Native American protest outside of the hubert h humprey metrodome in Minneapolis Minnesota before super bowl 26 between the Buffalo Bills and Washington team.
This game was played on January 26th of This is not a new issue brought on by the pc crowd. Sorry Washington fans and name supporters. Sticks and stones, buddy. PS — the few NA friends I have actually take pride in the name… So sure, we should take that from them as well….
So let me get this straight. The Redskins have been around for 82 years; and adidas has been around for 66 years. All of sudden now in this is an issue with adidas and others? Makes about as much sense as putting a screen door on a submarine! How about the Washington Hogs? In music, movies, culture, even basic cable programming Black-ish. Will they also be sponsoring changing every team name that has ties to pirate life style, since pirates have been pushed to the brink of near extinction.
But adidas is okay with their name on the athlete who is running around with a so called racial slur on his jersey…hmmmmm. Why do only liberals get to make up the rules of right and wrong? What the liberal majority wants the liberal majority gets…What the liberal minority wants the liberal minority gets. I am a man of color and have been insulted by name-calling many of times in the past.
BUT — if a word is not said as an insult. Rule 1 of slurs — the word has to be meant as an insult. It has to have a meaning that is meant to degrade.
Then why the outrage? Nice move Adidas, first but not the last major company to put there money where their mouth is……one more nail in little Danny Snyders coffin is always a good thing….. Change the name Washington….. It always has been. Yes, I respect his rights. As far as the other references to Native Americans like Indians or Chiefs, I personally think that may be too sensitive. I work for a native american owned company. There are a bunch of shareholders that work here, each with varying degress of Native American blood.
How many teams get a chance to hit the rest button? Cleveland bailed out the Ravens, by forcing them to change name and colors, and now the Ravens have great colors, a cool logo, etc. And Cleveland, well, I cant imagine anyone likes the Cleveland uniforms. If I am Snyder I change the name, the colors, everything. All of the Redskins gear will then be more expensive because they wont be producing anymore. And all of the new gear will be in high demand because fans always want the new gear.
And if he wants, Snyder can take one of those passive aggressive approaches to the people who want him to change the name. They could be the Gamblers. But in reality, a name like the Senators or something like that, Sentinels, etc is inevitable. And Snyder would make a fortune. Even if you ARE what you say you are, you are one person. What makes your opinion any more important than his? The only friend RG3 has is Dan Snyder. RG3 just lost his only friend by backing Adidas.
He lost Bruce Allen as well because he backs Snyder on everything. My Run DMC phase. I have a simple, yet elegant solution to this problem.
Give them a name with some real history and meaning to Washington sports fans: rename the team the Washington Bullets. Do it!
I think the best challenge to the use of the Washington team name is, if you started a new team today, would you use that name? If you answer yes, a new team could start up today using skin color as the basis for their name, you are delusional!
Adidas gets that. They are just brave enough to say so. Adidas was one of my favorite brands. Political correctness again runs amok. But want to critisize Redskins name. Get out of here. There are tens of thousands of peoples that were conquered but somehow manage to move forward with a shred of dignity. Activists are going to be activists, they always need something to be outraged about. Its a shame they have lost their touch though, they are too wimpy to go after China with Tibet so they go after a losing football team, this is all to make themselves feel important.
This clown makes it easy to not like him. It is worth pointing out that Adidas has been in the news twice this year and neither event was good for their image. The first being that James Harden, one of their athletes, was caught wearing Jordans and the second being that UA knocked them out of the number 2 spot in sales.
Notre Dame should do away with their mascot and no longer be called the Fighting Irish. Being an Irish-American, I take great pride in my ancestry. I also feel a great sense of pride with the Fighting Irish moniker for Notre Dame, but the PC police are telling me that I have to be offended, so it looks like I have to jump on the bandwagon now.

However, Griffin suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter and did not finish the game, replaced by McSorley in the fourth quarter of a loss. Griffin appeared in 14 games overall for the Ravens with two starts, completing 33 of 58 passes for yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.
Griffin's best season was his rookie year in , when he entered the league as the second-overall pick and led Washington to the playoffs as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. However, Griffin suffered a knee injury that season, the first of several injuries that hampered his career. After Washington released Griffin in , he spent one season with the Cleveland Browns and was out of the NFL in before jumpstarting his career by making the Ravens' roster in Head Coach Brian Flores and Dolphins defensive players talked about their blitz-heavy approach against the Ravens.
Plus, offensive lineman Robert Hunt explains what he was thinking on his penalty touchdown. Miscommunication in coverage ruins a strong defensive showing. Lack of points in the first quarter remains a challenge. Were the Ravens running on empty after last week's OT thriller?
