How many vectra msd were made
Then there was the 2. There was a 2. But we will. Yes, we like a Vectra. So imagine our joy when, as 18 year-olds, we learned that Vauxhall was going to thrust a performance model into the world.
Yes, we are of course talking about the mighty GSi. The Vectra B, as this model was known, was released in And apart from some rather brilliantly designed wing mirrors, it was a fairly unremarkable car. The Cavalier it replaced was also unremarkable. The Mondeo it rivalled was, wait for it, unremarkable. Cars in this case were always quite muted.
In the mid-to-late nineties cars were no exciting. But they were adequate. Fit for purpose. Good at their job, but lacking any sort of flair or panache. Until, that is, the manufacturers gave us hot versions.
Ford had the Si, but Vauxhall has the SRi, a badge it had been banding out for years. It was a name that brought with it a preconception rooted firmly in performance and power. Most SRi Vectras were 1. We had a late B 2. We wanted more. Vauxhall knew this, so it delivered and delivered hard.
And it was was to Vauxhall then, what VXR is now. Basically, fast. In the late-ninties, Vauxhall was campaigning hard in the British Touring Car Championship with the Vectra, so it made sense to have a road car that would celebrate that fact.
In some cases though, the make and model name isn't properly recorded and the the vehicle will be counted under one of the following alternative categories:. As with all large government databases, there are errors in this dataset especially since quite a lot of the data for older vehicles is based on paper records that were originally maintained by local authorities.
The most common error that crops up is vehicles that don't have exactly the correct model variant recorded on their V5 registration document. For example, a special edition Peugeot Gentry might only have Peugeot recorded on its V5. This can lead to some model variants appearing to be rarer than they actually are.
The key to understanding whether or not the data is accurate for your particular model is to check the model name on its V5 registration document. HS 1, posts months. I had a minter a few years ago, loved it but hated the economy. A great sounding engine with induction kit and handled better than most people would give it credit for. A picture attached. Quite rare as a hatch in this colour. I had the irmscher lower and upper grille fitted with the prefacelift surround instead of the chrome, also irmscher side repeaters to finish off.
I used to work for MSD making these, I may have even converted your car! The 2. Also all 4 camshafts were changed on the 2. Bungleaio 5, posts months. Never driven one but I've always liked the look of these GSi's. Nice looking example OP. Always liked the look of these but i owned a Vectra Sri and tbh it was the worst car I've ever owned.
The handling was utterly appalling, terrible driving position, etc. How does the Gsi handle and hows the mpg? My Sri drank petrol and it was dog slow Yours looks good though. IROC-Z posts months. Mine did 24mpg and never ever did i get more than 28 even on a run.
