Are you serious? The four singers were put in identical apartments in Chelsea and didn't meet until two days before they were due to go into the recording studio. Sebastien, the only one not from a classical background, says: "It was like an arranged marriage.

Their first album, Il Divo, released in October , knocked Robbie Williams off the number one spot. Their debut world tour in January was a sell-out, playing to more than , fans in 18 countries. But it wasn't until the group arrived in Japan that they began to appreciate their phenomenal success. Carlos says: "We were at a press conference and they put up the names of every country we were No 1 in and there were David is looking very tired now.

I consider them my brothers. Everyone goes in one by one in a booth and just records a spot. That makes you like family. Urs, in his accented English, says: "When I listen to our music, I'm baffled by how much magic there is.

The surface integral equations whose unknowns are the surface electric and magnetic currents are widely used in eddy current analysis. However, when the skin depth is thick, computational error is increased especially in obtaining electromagnetic fields near the edge of the conductor.

In order to obtain the electromagnetic field accurately, we propose an approach to solve surface integral equations utilizing loop electric and surface magnetic currents as unknowns. Surface ionization ion source with high current. The working principle and structure of a surface ionization ion source with high current is described systematically.

Some technological keypoints of the ion source are given in more detail, mainly including: choosing and shaping of the material of the surface ionizer, heating of the ionizer, distributing of working vapour on the ionizer surface , the flow control, the cooling problem at the non-ionization surface and the ion optics, etc.

This ion source has been used since in the electromagnetic isotope separator with deg angle. It is suitable for separating isotopes of alkali metals and rare earth metals. The results show that our ion source have advantages of high ion current , good characteristics of focusing ion beam, working stability and structure reliability etc.

It may be extended to other fields. Finally, some interesting phenomena in the experiment are disccused briefly. Some problems which should be investigated are further pointed out.

Stability of alternating current discharges between water drops on insulation surfaces. Discharges between water drops are important in the ageing of hydrophobic outdoor insulators. They may also be important in the processes leading up to flashover of these insulators in high pollution conditions.

This paper considers discharges between drops when a limited alternating current is available, as experienced by an ageing insulator in service. A phenomenon is identified in which the length of a discharge between two drops is reduced through a particular type of distortion of the drops. This is visually characterized as a liquid protrusion from each of a pair of water drops along the insulator surface.

This process is distinct from vibration of the drops, general distortion of their shape and the very fast emission of jet streams seen in very high fields. The process depends upon the discharge current , the resistivity of the moisture and the hydrophobicity of the insulation surface.

We define general rotational surfaces of elliptic and hyperbolic type in the pseudo-Euclidean 4-space with neutral metric which are analogous to the general rotational surfaces of C. Moore in the Euclidean 4-space. We study Lorentz general rotational surfaces with plane meridian curves and give the complete classification of minimal general rotational surfaces of elliptic and hyperbolic type, general rotational surfaces with parallel normalized mean curvature vector field, flat general rotati From the experimental results, we found that dark current was dominated by surface current , and not bulk current.

It was also noted that SiN x passivation has a surface current that is lower by three to nine times in magnitude than that in polyimide passivation in the whole range of bias. To analyze the difference in dark current due to the passivation types, we propose the theoretical current components. This shows that the dark current of both passivation types is mainly composed of generation—recombination G—R and tunneling components, originating from the surface.

However, each component has a different magnitude for passivation types, which can be explained by carrier concentration and trap density. The dependence of dark current on temperature shows the different behaviors between passivation types and supports a theoretical description of current components.

Aberration analysis for freeform surface terms overlay on general decentered and tilted optical surfaces. Aberration theory helps designers to better understand the nature of imaging systems. However, the existing aberration theory of freeform surfaces has many limitations. For example, it only works in the special case when the central area of the freeform surface is used. In addition, the light footprint is limited to a circle, which does not match the case of an elliptical footprint for general systems.

In this paper, aberrations generated by freeform surface term overlay on general decentered and tilted optical surfaces are analyzed. To solve the problem of the elliptical light footprint for tilted freeform surfaces , the scaled pupil vector is used in the aberration analysis. The mechanism of aberration transformation is discovered, and the aberrations generated by different Zernike terms in this case are calculated.

Finally we proposed aberration equations for freeform terms on general decentered and tilted freeform surfaces. The research result given in this paper offers an important reference for optical designers and engineers, and it is of great importance in developing analytical methods for general freeform system design, tolerance analysis, and system assembly.

Current -induced switching of magnetic molecules on topological insulator surfaces. Electrical currents at the surface or edge of a topological insulator are intrinsically spin polarized. We show that such surface or edge currents can be used to switch the orientation of a molecular magnet weakly coupled to the surface or edge of a topological insulator. For the edge of a two-dimensional topological insulator as well as for the surface of a three-dimensional topological insulator the application of a well-chosen surface or edge current can lead to a complete polarization of the molecule if the molecule's magnetic anisotropy axis is appropriately aligned with the current direction.

For a generic orientation of the molecule a nonzero but incomplete polarization is obtained. We calculate the probability distribution of the magnetic states and the switching rates as a function of the applied current.

Gravity current into an ambient fluid with an open surface. The system satisfies balance of volume and momentum explicitly , and vorticity implicitly. We present solutions. The predicted flows are in general dissipative, and thus physically valid only for a Frb a , but the reduction is not dramatic, typically a few percent.

The Federbush model is studied, with particular attention being given to the definition of currents. Inasmuch as there is no a priori restriction of local gauge invariance, the currents in the interacting case can be defined more generally than in Q. It is found that two arbitrary parameters are thereby introduced into the theory. Lowest order perturbation calculations for the current correlation functions and the Fermion propagators indicate that the theory admits a whole class of solutions dependent upon these parameters with the closed solution of Federbush emerging as a special case.

The theory is shown to be locally covariant, and a conserved energy--momentum tensor is displayed. One finds in addition that the generators of gauge transformations for the fields are conserved.

Finally it is shown that the general theory yields the Federbush solution if suitable Thirring model type counterterms are added. Concentration polarization, surface currents , and bulk advection in a microchannel. A remarkable outcome of the investigations is the discovery of strong couplings between bulk advection and the surface current ; without a surface current , bulk advection is strongly suppressed. The numerical simulations are supplemented by analytical models valid in the long channel limit as well By including the effects of diffusion and advection in the diffuse part of the electric double layers, we extend a recently published analytical model of overlimiting current due to surface conduction This causes growth and retreat of snow cover primarily CO2 in Martian Polar regions.

The perennial caps are the only place on the planet where condensed H2O is available at surface. This leads to a significant variation on planet's surface albedo and hence effecting the amount of solar flux absorbed or reflected at the surface.

Presence of dust or other surface impurities can significantly reduce the surface albedo especially during and right after a dust storm. This change will also be evident in the surface energy flux interactions. Inter-annual variability of surface albedo and planet's top of atmosphere TOA energy budget along with their correlation with currently available mission data will be presented. Next, the evaluation has been carried out by comparing the OSCAR currents with currents measured by moored buoys Equivalent conserved currents and generalized Noether's theorem.

A generalized Noether theorem is presented, relating symmetries and equivalence classes of local conservation laws in classical field theories; this is contrasted with the standard theorem. The concept of a ''Noether'' field theory is introduced, being a theory for which the generalized theorem applies; not only does this include the cases of Lagrangian and Hamiltonian field theories, these structures are ''derived'' from the Noether property in a natural way.

The generalized theorem applies to currents and symmetries that contain derivatives of the fields up to an arbitrarily high order.

Surface currents on the plasma-vacuum interface in MHD equilibria. Since VMEC assumes that magnetic fields within the plasma form closed and nested flux surfaces , the plasma-vacuum interface is a flux surface , and the total magnetic field there has no normal component. VMEC imposes this condition of zero normal field using the potential formulation of Merkel, and solves a Neumann problem for the magnetic potential in the exterior region.

This boundary condition necessarily admits the possibility of a surface current on the interface. While this surface current may be small in MHD equilibrium, it is readily computed in terms of the magnetic potentials in both the interior and exterior regions, evaluated on the surface. If only the external magnetic potential is known as in VMEC , then the surface current can be computed from the discontinuity of the tangential field across the interface.

Examples of the surface current for VMEC equilibria will be shown for a zero-pressure stellarator equilibrium. Field-line following of the vacuum magnetic field shows magnetic islands within the plasma region. The current density in the vicinity of a rational surface of a force-free magnetic field subjected to an ideal perturbation is shown to be the sum of both a smooth and a delta-function distribution, which give comparable currents.

The maximum perturbation to the smooth current density is comparable to a typical equilibrium current density and the width of the layer in which the current flows is shown to be proportional to the perturbation amplitude. In the standard linearized theory, the plasma displacement has an unphysical jump across the rational surface , but the full theory gives a continuous displacement.

Accurate and timely knowledge of open ocean surface currents are needed for a variety of engineering and emergency missions, as well as for improving scientific understanding of ocean dynamics. ROCIS exploits space-time processing of airborne ocean wave imagery to produce real-time maps of surface currents every 1 km along the flight track. Post-processing of the data allows for more in depth sensitivity studies than can be undertaken with the real-time measurements alone, providing swaths of current retrievals at higher spatial resolutions.

Currents can be calculated on scales down to m, across swaths 3 km wide, along the entire flight path. We show comparisons to in situ current measurements, explore performance as a function of altitude, dwell, wind speed, and wave height, and discuss sources of error. We present examples of current retrievals revealing mesoscale and submesoscale variability. Lastly, we present horizontal kinetic energy spectra from select flights covering a range of spatial scales from hundreds of meters to hundreds of kilometers.

The sources of errors and potential use of ASAR The SeaSonde Reliable data were obtained from the two radars installed, and successful trials were conducted with the Infosat satellite link to transmit data from the remote site. Data recovery from the SeaSonde was generally good, with maximum ranges varying from 15 km to over 30 km. Sea echo return strength at both radars was correlated with wind, consistent with lower Bragg scattering at lower wind speeds. A simple surface current forecasting algorithm, based on decomposing the signal into tidal and residual bands, was examined.

It was found that tides account for the greatest portion of currents in the study area, and could be forecasted out to 48 h with d of input data. The nonpredictable, fluctuating part of the current signal was isolated and its statistics were calculated. The algorithm tests showed that the SeaSonde data can be used to measure and predict the slowly varying tidal and mean flow velocities, as well as the random part of the signal, both of which are important in oil spill modelling.

Surface flow patterns and time-series data from the SeaSonde measurements, and from a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model, were compared from an oil spill modelling perspective. In general , surface flow patterns from the model were smoother than those observed. The differences were most noticeable in the cross-channel direction. The radar data indicate that a flow-dependent eddy viscosity formulation, with coefficients calibrated to reproduce the features observed with the radar, would improve agreement and yield a good model for data assimilation.

Investigation of the surface current excitation by a relativistic electron electromagnetic field. Surface current method and pseudo-photon ones are widely used in the problems of diffraction and transition radiation of relativistic electron in conductive targets.

The simple analysis disclosed the contradiction between these methods in respect to the surface current excitation on target surfaces. This contradiction was resolved experimentally by the measurement of a surface current on the upstream and downstream target surfaces in diffraction radiation geometry.

The experimental test showed, that no surface current is induced on the target downstream surface under the influence of a relativistic electron electromagnetic field in contrast to the upstream surface.

This is important for the understanding of a forward transition and diffraction radiation nature and electromagnetic field evolution in interaction processes. Determining the near- surface current profile from measurements of the wave dispersion relation. The current -induced Doppler shifts of waves can yield information about the background mean flow, providing an attractive method of inferring the current profile in the upper layer of the ocean. We present measurements of waves propagating on shear currents in a laboratory water channel, as well as theoretical investigations of inversion techniques for determining the vertical current structure.

Spatial and temporal measurements of the free surface profile obtained using a synthetic Schlieren method are analyzed to determine the wave dispersion relation and Doppler shifts as a function of wavelength. The vertical current profile can then be inferred from the Doppler shifts using an inversion algorithm. Most existing algorithms rely on a priori assumptions of the shape of the current profile, and developing a method that uses less stringent assumptions is a focus of this study, allowing for measurement of more general current profiles.

The accuracy of current inversion algorithms are evaluated by comparison to measurements of the mean flow profile from particle image velocimetry PIV , and a discussion of the sensitivity to errors in the Doppler shifts is presented. Surface and near surface defect detection in thick copper EB-welds using eddy current testing. The surface inspection of thick copper electron beam EB welds plays an important role in the acceptance of nuclear fuel disposal.

The main reasons to inspect these components are related to potential manufacturing and handling defects. In this work the data acquisition software, visualising tools for eddy current EC measurements and eddy current sensors were developed for detection of unwanted defects. The inspection procedure was produced during the development of the inspection techniques.

The inspection method development aims to qualify the method for surface and near surface defect detection and sizing according to ENIQ. The study includes technical justification to be carried out, and compilation of a defect catalogue and experience from measurements within the Posiva's research on issues related to manufacturing. The depth of penetration in copper components in eddy current testing is rather small.

To detect surface breaking defects the eddy current inspection is a good solution. A simple approach was adopted using two techniques: higher frequency was used to detect surface defects and to determine the dimensions of the defects except depth, lower frequency was used to detect defects having a ligament and for sizing of deeper surface breaking defects.

The higher frequency was 30 kHz and the lower frequency was Hz. The higher frequency probes were absolute bobbing coils and lower frequency probes combined transmitter - several receiver coils. To evaluate both methods, calibration blocks were manufactured by FNS for weld inspections.

These calibration specimens mainly consisted of electron discharge machined notches and holes of varying shapes, lengths and diameters in the range of 1 mm to 20 mm of depth. Also one copper lid specimen with defects was manufactured and used for evaluation of weld inspection.

Generalized space vector control for current source inverters and rectifiers. Full Text Available Current source inverters CSI is one of the widely used converter topology in medium voltage drive applications due to its simplicity, motor friendly waveforms and reliable short circuit protection. The current source inverters are usually fed by controlled current source rectifiers CSR with a large inductor to provide a constant supply current.

As space vector pulse width modulation SVPWM features the advantages of flexible control, faster dynamic response, better DC utilization and easy digital implementation it is considered for this work.

The intense computation involved in framing a generalized space vector control are discussed in detail. The algorithm includes determination of band, region, subregions and vectors. Surface currents in the Canary Basin from drifter observations. Satellite-tracked drifting buoys, deployed in the Canary Basin as part of the Subduction Experiment between July and October and the French Semaphore Experiment during October , were used to obtain a description of surface currents and temperature in the Canary Basin.

The study focuses on surface water convergence, eddy energy production, and heat transport. Eddy kinetic energy maxima are found along the Azores Current. The residual between local surface heat fluxes and horizontal convergence of heat implies a vertical heat convergence process associated with mesoscale temperature and flow fields.

Knowledge of the circulation of estuaries and adjacent shelf waters has relied on hydrographic measurements, moorings, and local wind observations usually removed from the region of interest. Although these observations are certainly sufficient to identify major characteristics, they lack both spatial resolution and temporal coverage. High resolution synoptic observations are required to identify important coastal processes at smaller scales. Long observation periods are needed to properly sample low-frequency processes that may also be important.

The introduction of high-frequency HF radar measurements and regional wind models for coastal studies is changing this situation. Here we analyze synoptic, high-resolution surface winds and currents in the Delaware Bay mouth over an eight-month period October through May The surface currents were measured by two high-frequency radars while the surface winds were extracted from a data-assimilating regional wind model.

To illustrate the utility of these monitoring tools we focus on two day periods which previously were shown to present contrasting pictures of the circulation.

One, the low-outflow period is from 1 October through 14 November ; the other is the high-outflow period from 3 March through 16 April The large-scale characteristics noted by previous workers are clearly corroborated. Specifically the M2 tide dominates the surface currents , and the Delaware Bay outflow plume is clearly evident in the low frequency currents.

Several new aspects of the surface circulation were also identified. These include a map of the spatial variability of the M2 tide validating an earlier model study , persistent low-frequency cross-mouth flow, and a rapid response of the surface currents to a changing wind field. However, strong wind episodes did not persist long enough to set up a sustained Ekman response.

Generalized Weyl modules for twisted current algebras. We introduce the notion of generalized Weyl modules for twisted current algebras. We study their representation-theoretic and combinatorial properties and also their connection with nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials.

As an application, we compute the dimension of the classical Weyl modules in the remaining unknown case. Surface current equilibria from a geometric point of view. This paper addresses the inverse problem of the existence of surface current MHD equilibria in toroidal geometry with vanishing magnetic field inside.

Inverse means that the plasma-vacuum interface rather than the external wall or conductors are given and the latter remain to be determined. This makes a reformulation of the problem possible in geometric terms: What toroidal surfaces with analytic parameterization allow a simple analytic covering by geodesics? If such a covering by geodesics field lines exists, their orthogonal trajectories current lines also form a simple covering and are described by a function satisfying a nonlinear partial differential equation of the Hamilton-Jacobi type whose coefficients are combinations of the metric elements of the surface.

All known equilibria - equilibria with zero and infinite rotational transform and the symmetric ones in the case of finite rotational transform - turn out to be solutions of separable cases of that equation and allow a unified description if the toroidal surface is parametrized in the moving trihedral associated with a closed curve. Analogously to volume current equilibria, the only continuous symmetries compatible with separability are plane, helical and axial symmetry. In the nonseparable case numerical evidence is presented for cases with chaotic behaviour of geodesics, thus restricting possible equilibria for these surfaces.

For weak deviation from axisymmetry KAM-type behaviour is observed, i. A previous attempt to establish three-dimensional surface current equilibria on the basis of the KAM theorem is rejected as incomplete, and a complete proof of the existence of equilibria in the weakly nonaxisymmetric case, based on the twist theorem for mappings, is given. Finally, for a certain class of strong deviations from axisymmetry an analytic criterion is. Robotic general surgery: current practice, evidence, and perspective.

Robotic technology commenced to be adopted for the field of general surgery in the s. The twins have anuver room for when they grow big, but not as big as me. They have to share. My bones have already growed more. The second company will be Santa. He will come down the chimley and bring presents to all the good boys and girls.

I have been trying wery hard not to tizzy cuz the elves might be watching. This morning Papa was trying to leave before I saw him but I was too fast. I wanted to go with, but he said he had to go by himself.

Then after my nap, there he was just like he promised and we went shopping. Then on Christmas morning baby Jesus will come to visit. Mommie and Papa said when I get up I could put baby Jesus in the manger. I helped Mommie put the aminals in the stable and the sheep go by the shepherds. You know what? A Musical Request by Schatzi Pardon me, but the stereo is way too loud in this house! Maybe it's my super-sensitive hearing, but lately nearly everything sounds like the Red Army Choir performing holiday rap music.

Once when everyone was gone, my Man put on some Wing Ding guitar guy and I just about croaked! Buhler Family Blog 9 Dec. It began early in December and will go through the first week of January.

You should have seen him trying to lean over and wave to Mommie and Grandmami. Susanna had the Santa thing planned like it was D Day. Gabe had been wery good about not bothering the wrapped presents under the tree.

Now Schatzi was a whole other thing. We should have known she could smell her treats. He just loves her, especially since he thinks that the reason she comes over is to help him take care Schatzi. While we were doing that, she and Mami would stuff the stockings. Papi would drive Mami and Big Houdini in our larger car. I could just see she and Mami going on a cookie strike.

Since she likes to be within waddling distance to the bathroom at all times lately, they strategically picked one of the pews near the back, with Susanna on the aisle. At we started a program of carols as the church filled up until there was standing room only. Blessedly my solo ended and I flew out the side door, choir robe and all and dashed round to the front of the church to find Susanna.

All I found was Papi. We all just stood there beaming with soppy grins on our faces as he climbed right up to talk to him. There he was with his mop of dark curls and those huge brown eyes, wide with awe, looking up at Santa and earnestly pleading his case for his choice of presents. I thought my heart would melt as his face became more animated and he started talking with his hands, just like Urs does.

Papi was so enthralled he almost forget to take a picture. Poor Santa never had a chance, but then Gabe is my son too. Then Urs and Papi took him on this humongus Ferris wheel, 50 meters tall!

Urs said he was shouting for Mami and I to watch him but all we saw was him trying to wave, still holding his bag of popcorn as it drifted down like snow. What will be next? The London Eye? Bungee jumping? Thank goodness Mami was there to keep me calm. Several times I caught Bag Boy trying to munge and shake packages under the tree.

What a sneak! Once he even had a foil-wrapped one suspiciously near his nose. How desperate is that? I was just nesting. Stupid me! I should have guessed. After all at my last appointment Dr. Ziegler did say I could go any time.

But now? On Christmas! I was so focused on Urs I hardly noticed the little twinges at the beginning of the carol service. He looked like such a beautifully handsome angel with his dark curls, brilliant white shirt and red choir robe, completely lost in the music. Then a song would end and his eyes would search and meet with mine in such a sweet gentle smile that I almost forgot to breathe.

As the twinges because true contractions, Mami and I shared a look, like an exciting secret. I must admit being more than a little nervous about this unknown journey my two babies and I had begun.

She must have sensed this as she leaned over. It will go well. Had Urs known, he would have been dismayed by his little ones poor timing however he would have been elated with their time management. My contractions were four minutes apart and over a minute long when I checked my watch just after a.

Since there was only one more carol before the mass exodus, I decided to make my move now so Mami and I could beat the traffic out of the parking lot before something really bad happened like my water breaking. Papi could wait for Urs and hopefully keep him calm. So as we whizzed off round the corner and out of sight with Mami at the wheel, I caught a glimpse of the red flash frantically looking around and gesticulating wildly to poor Papi.

Perhaps we should have waited I thought as the next contraction began. They were teeny tiny cuz I was wery high on the top of the sky wheel. It tickled my tummy when we came down. We went round and round and it was funnest. And know what else I did? I sat on Santa and he asked me what I wanted him to bring me. I said I wanted some tools like Papa has so when we play race cars and motorcycles I could fix them like he does.

I want to be just like my Papa. Mommie said she was wery proud of me when I told her I used the magic word: please. She tried to open hers already with her teeth cuz the fingers on her paws are all stuck together. Finally Christmas Eve. Papa says.

I like stories. I wonder how she knows that? Oh, and I almost forgot the reindeers. Mommie found some carrots way in the bottom.

When I gave everybody a hug and kiss goodnight they told me to sleep fast so Santa would come soon. I can hardly wait! Buhler Rules by Schatzi How come nobody ever told me about the present rule? What ever happened to possession is nine-tenths of the law? Sorry about that. I honestly had no idea I was bilingual till I came to live here and now look at me, almost proficient in Swgengabe.

Buhler Family Blog 10 Dec. Thanks for reminding me to take off that damned red robe, Papi. Sorry I made you run so fast. As I looked at his sweet chubby face and his fingers curled tightly around his blanket I thought of how he wrapped those same little fingers around mine the first time I held him.

In a few hours would two new little hands do the same? Where was she now? Was I too late? No I was not late. Susanna was doing fine. I needed to calm down. Call us, ja? Ziegler said it would be good to walk for awhile so we did.

I talked, hummed, sang, whatever it took to keep her focused. She was working so hard and was so brave. I guess I missed seeing some of this with Gabe because that was when she sent me and my book to maternity Australia. This time I did need to leave once… to change into scrubs but all the time I was there she never asked me to go somewhere.

Well there were a few looks but no words. Then we were hurrying to the delivery room. It looked about the same as when Gabe was born except for more equipment on hand and it was wery crowded. Each baby had their own team waiting for them in case of complications. Then we were laughing and crying with joy as Dr. I remember Dr. We just looked at each other and smiled. You can always count on them, especially to help you cry happy tears. You did it! Woo Hoo! We did it together. Always together.

Susanna nursed one a little bit, as I held the other in my arms and then we switched until it was time for Susanna and the girls to be taken to her room. It was in those first few minutes that it happened, almost without my realization and certainly without any conscious thought. Already they were a force to be reckoned with for they had captured my heart and with their tiny grasp had already begun to wrap me around their little fingers.

Poor Urs! I hope Papi can calm him down a little before he gets here. Thank God Gabe is a sound sleeper. Doreen checked with Marcy and it only took one story and he was out like a light. At least Mami and Papi will be there when Gabe wakes up. I can just picture him still rubbing the sleep from his eyes, curls every which way, running to wake them so they can go see if Santa has been there.

Now that would truly be magical. Do not worry. Now you and Urs go add to your family. Papi and I love you. Ziegler examined me and said I was almost there and a little walking should do the trick. Urs came back in and we walked and then kind of slow danced through the contractions as Urs massaged my back. I could swear the shy twin must have no sense of direction and was attempting to exit through my spine. Thank you Mami; Bag Boy, bless his heart, did do better this time.

At about I told him to get a nurse. I was ready to push. I could tell when she came in that she didn't believe it, but sure enough, I was ready. With the next contraction my water broke with a huge explosion! It was like I was a famous performing artist and poor Urs and the nurse in the front row were definitely covered! I would have given him a good thump except for the fact I was trying to laugh, breathe, and push simultaneously.

Then suddenly Dr. Ziegler was holding her up for us to see! Urs might call it her opera voice but to me it was the most beautiful yell in the world. She was suctioned, Urs leaned over and cut the cord, and she was taken by one of the teams to be cleaned, weighed, wrapped and introduced to her Mommie. Then Urs held her as I had a few minutes to relax while a nurse kept pressure on my stomach to keep the other baby from turning.

We had both picked out a girl and a boy name. We agreed that I could name the girl, and Urs could name the second twin. I'm not sure who said she was a girl, but at first all I could see were feet. Then she was handed to me and I started crying all over again. Another beautiful daughter! A soprano according to Urs. Again Urs cut the cord and the other team took over. After she was cleaned, checked, and wrapped up, Urs and I looked at each other and started to cry as we held our newborn twin daughters.

Everything had gone even better than we had imagined and oh so quickly. There was only 10 minutes between the time Noelle was born and her sister joined her. You are getting to be an expert at this. Ziegler teased as he winked at Urs. You did good. I did have a little help you know.

I love you too. Whatever made me think I could outcharm the Uber charmer? Surprise Presents by Gabriel He came! He came! Santa came to our house last night and left lots of presents for good BIG boys!

This is how it happened. First I heard a little noise when I was sleeping tight like Papa and Mommie said. So I did. Then I woked up again and it was the phone going ring, ring, ring.

Does Santa call when your presents are ready? I hopped out of bed to go see, but first I had to potty. Grandmami was in the hall just holding the phone and smiling. I asked her if that was Santa but she said it was Papa and he and Mommie had an extra special present for me but it was at the hospital.

Mommie was taking good care of it and we could go see it later when Papa got home. She told me to put my slippers on so we could go downstairs and see what Santa had left for good BIG boys. I hurried wery fast. When we came down the stairs, oh no! Papers, strings, and Schatzi toys all over. Grandmami put on her bat wings, did click, click, click with her tongue and shook her head. Grandpapi opened the door to let her out and there was Papa! Schatzi said hello and kept on going. I was wery happy to see Papa and he was wery happy too.

Then we saw what Santa brought. I got tools! Just like Papa does. There were Tinkertoys for Papa and me to build with and my stocking had toy cars and trucks and candy and an orange. There were ice skates from Grandpapi and Grandmami made me a sweater. It is red, my bestest color.

Grandmami got him from the kitchen drawer where he was sleeping till Christmas and Papa let me put him in the manger. The twins were born last night and you have two new little baby sisters. Can I be the boss of my two girl sisters? But do you know what your new sisters did? They left you a Christmas present. There was anuver present. TWO presents…I like having two girl sisters. This is eevn better.

Kan you save the frigerator for next year? They forgot to close the doggy gate in the kitchen. Free at last! Original Beef Hooves? Poochie Chew Dog Treats? Piggy Twists? That Australian shepard I met at the park last week just went on and on about them. Is it true that in Heaven, dining room tables have on-ramps? Buhler Family Blog 11 Dec. What with opening presents and telling Gabe about the babies we forgot all about her.

She just wanted to say Noelle and Heidi had a good feed but it had been rather tricky with both at once and something about footballs. Anyway they were sleeping now and she was planning on doing the same in a few minutes. And could Mami please bring her some real food when we came this afternoon? He insisted.

This is Gabe. Know what? I got presents from my two girl sisters. My shirt says. He left a trail of clothes all the way up the stairs. Of course he had to wear his Big Brother shirt. Gott, I just had a scary thought. What if David brings back a video game for Gabe for Christmas? Do they even have them for children his age? What about playing outdoors with other children or reading with Susanna or playing with his toys? Listen to me obsessing about a toy!

How my priorities have changed. This being a father can really get complicated. Mami woke her resting boys two hours later. I felt so humble and grateful to witness this circle of life. Then Gabriel was born and it was like my heart expanded to welcome him into that same love and now my heart is opening up again to welcome our two daughters. As I read it I had to laugh at myself. In fact this one has some pretty amazing facts.

For instance, a dolphin calf holds its breath while feeding underwater. And did you know that a platypus' baby is called a puggles? Or that kangaroo milk is pink? Right between the platypus and the kangaroo he sat up and started unsnapping his jammies. Just like the Grinch. Would you like to know a little secret? I love you Gabriel. When that door pushed open and Gabe piled onto the bed and hugged me my world was complete.

If Urs could have crowed he would have; he was so proud. Mami and Papi sat down in chairs and Gabe scampered off the bed, took his hand, and walked over to them.

He peered first at one, then at the other. Gabe looked at Mami quizzically. Then he leaned over and addressed each one. Oh and thank you for my shirt.

The next minute he bounded back up onto the bed and sitting back on his knees excitedly began, mouth and hands working as one. And he brought a helmet and Grandpapi took Schatzi for a walk and I rode my motorcycle all the way. I went pedal, pedal, pedal, wery fast. Rosti, bread and sausage might not be a traditional Christmas dinner but it smelled divine!

From one of your admiring fans? But just as awhile was turning into quite awhile the kissing stopped and he stood up. Si, Unca Carlos I promise. I had to laugh at Urs. Which baby should he pick up? So I saved him and grabbed the closest one, Heidi. One thing for sure it really helps to keep your sense of humor and he is so funny sometimes. You can pre-order the album here. Fans can visit www.
